Beans and Noodles

His name was Noodles; Beans was her name

Got married on a Friday and nobody came

They rented an apartment down by the canal

He liked the way she sang and she liked his smile

He got a job painting signs--always spelled them wrong

She got good at baking cakes and writing poems on 'em

They had a couple of children, loved them tenderly

Then it was Beans and Noodles and Noodles and Beans

Oh and the years just fell away like fingernail clippings

Or locks of hair

Oh and they got old one day and they drifted toward the skyline like two Seagulls floating on the air

His name was Noodles; Beans was her name

Got buried on a Friday and everybody came

Children and grandchildren and friends all came to call

For those two plain people who had loved them all so well

Here lie Beans and Noodles; Someone bless them from above

Their life was their creation; their fortune was their love
