Ben Johnson's Creek Lyrics

Mark OlsonCHORUS:Nobody told us we should steer clearThere's mud on our feet and the grassIt tastes like turpentineDown at Ben Johnson's CreekThere's a broken pipeline that spills into the waterWe go out walking one dayAnd a couple of mean old boys come up to us and sayBen Johnson's now public domainWe tried to pay him off but all he wanted was to stayREPEAT CHORUSWe like Ben Johnson's placeThere's white table grapes and his mother planted theseNow all these willows will goBen Johnson held out as long as a body can holdREPEAT CHORUSDown at Ben Johnson's CreekThere's a broken pipeline that spills into the water
