Beside You Lyrics

Like a star in the sky
That shines so bright
You guide me, I'm content to be beside you
Yet I'm free as a bird
That can fly so high
Can't you see, I'm content to be beside you
Not in front or behind you
But beside to remind you
That we both need one another oh yeah
Just to lean and depend on
Sometimes cry but rely on totally
Beside you is where I will be
Through the storms of your life
Some will love you and cast you aside
But not me, I'm content to be
Beside you
Though we walk hand in hand

One footprint in the sand
Means we carried one another
To the rainbow ahead
Where the only thing's ever said
Is I really really really really love you
Turn your face to the wind
And then close your eyes
And you will see
I will always be beside you
Baby, can't you see
I will always be, ooh right beside you
Everyday and everyway
For you, baby you, you you
Just for one minute, for one hour
Oh----
Baby can't you see
I will always be beside you

The Crests were a popular New York City R&B musical group of the late 1950s, often thought to be another all-black teenage-sound band, they were in fact about as integrated as a group could get, with four men (two of them black, one Puerto Rican and one Italian) and one black female. The band was founded by JT Carter and included Talmoudge Gough, Harold Torres, and Patricia Van Dross (older sister of the late Luther Vandross) JT found lead vocalist Johnny Mastrangelo (later just Johnny Maestro).
