Better Days Lyrics

(Verse 1)
Now you're looking like you've lost your best friend
There's no use pretending
That you need no one to call your own
When you're all alone
And you're hiding out and you're feeling like
You’ve gone so far
But you made it no where
And you're looking like you're blaming this on me, on me
(Chorus)
I don't wanna quit
I never hurt like this
You said that you would love me
But you'd never commit
Maybe this is it
Why do I feel like this?
Maybe I got everything I deserve
(Verse 2)

Now you're looking like you finally know what you should have shown me
But you couldn't say that your heart was broke
You were scared, you were lonely
But your lip it shakes and the tears on your face
You thought you had it all until it fell to pieces
And you scream so loud
Boy, stop giving up on me
Sometimes I hate you but I…
I don't wanna quit
I never hurt like this
You said that you would love me
But you'd never commit
Maybe this is it
Why do I feel like this?
Maybe I got everything I deserve
I don’t wanna quit
We’ll never hurt again
You said that you would love me
But you'd never commit
Maybe this is it
Why do I feel like this?
Maybe I got everything I deserve
(Bridge)
Just know I feel much better since I wiped that smile right off your face
I’m wonderin’ how’s the weather in your small glass heart
On your better days, did it rain, did it rain?
Did it rain?
Sometimes I hate you but I…
I don't wanna quit
I never hurt like this
You said that you would love me
But you'd never commit
Maybe this is it
Why do I feel like this?
Maybe I got everything I deserve
I don’t wanna quit
We’ll never hurt again
You said that you would love me
But you'd never commit
Maybe this is it
Why do I feel like this?
Maybe I got everything I deserve
Was wonderin’ about these words
I wonder how they change
Your chance to shine, your chance to fade, your chance to hurt like me
All you say, rearrange, the chance you never take
Don’t you wish you had…but I’ve gone away

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros is an American indie-folk ensemble band led by Alex Ebert, vocalist of the power-pop group Ima Robot. The band's first full-length recording, Up from Below, was released July 7, 2009 digitally and July 14, 2009 physically on Vagrant Records. Its first show as a full band was played July 18, 2007 at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, California.

After breaking up with his girlfriend, moving out of his house, and joining a 12-step program for addiction, Ebert began work on a story about a messianic figure named Edward Sharpe. According to Ebert, Sharpe "was sent down to Earth to kinda heal and save mankind ... but he kept getting distracted by girls and falling in love." Ebert later met singer Jade Castrinos in Los Angeles, California, United States. In the summer of 2009, as Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Ebert and Castrinos toured the country with a group of fellow musicians in a big white school bus.

Its song "Home" was voted number 15 on the Australian Triple J Hottest 100's 2009 countdown, the largest music poll in the world.
