Gabin was born in Bobo-Dioulasso, from a family that belonged to Dagari s ethnic group, in Burkina Faso, a very little state of western Africa that once was called Alto Volta, until when a big and important revolution changed its name. He first went in Denmark then he came to Italy in the 70s, when Gabin started to draw his particular idea of music. That was the reason that pulled him to continue his travel abroad, in the East world, where he learned, improved and searched.

When he came back to Italy he moved to Milan and went deeper in studying African and Asiatic percussion, chordophones, singing and composition. At the same time he spreads the art of his country for what concerned music, cinema, dance and theatre. In the 1984 he established the Centre of African culture, thanks to his girlfriend s help, the artist Elena Albini Trissino.

In the 1984 he moved in the Chianti, a rural zone in Tuscany that became the lab where the musician developed his research and his musical poetry. Here Gabin composed his first experimental research with African tradition; all of the images, the sounds and the colours of his land and the countries of his journey are alive in this music, besides the poetry and the elegance of the compositions. Great artists as Maurizio Deho, Giulio Capiozzo, Tullio De Piscopo, Mario Arcari, and Walter Maioli has been fascinated by those particular kind of music so much to collaborate with the artist in many occasions.

In the 1994 Gabin produced his first significant musical works as Afriki Djamana: Music from Burkina Faso, followed by Kontômè in the 1996, a collection of musical poems singed like the Burkina Faso s folklore. Some other collaboration followed with Peppe Barra, Guido Sodo and the Cantodiscanto, the Zongaje (ex Kunsertu, next exit). Turn (that means Reflections) is published in the 2004. Some artists and friends has been involved for this work as the guitars of Lokua Kanza, Dominic Miller and Pino Palladino, the percussion of Manu Katche, Jack Tama and his brother Paul Dabire, that gave an exceptional professionalism and emotional involving. "Sankara" is the song that strikes in particular for the strength, the sweet rage and sharpness. That is the song that Gabin dedicates to his friend, the one who lead the cultural and economic revolution in his country, beginning with the name: Burkina Faso, that is to say: the land of upright men. A president that resolved to fight to make his people to live with dignity, free from economical blackmails and servilism towards western imperialism. Sankara died the 15th October 1987 during a coup d Etat.

Inverse Live was published in the 2005. The repertory includes the best of Gabin s musical production, played by the compositor and saxophonist Daniele Malvisi. For this project the band changed from a quintet to a composition of eight elements because the vocal trio from Sardinia Le Balentes joined the band. The record is a new musical synthesis very pleasant, a mix of sounds that goes from jazz to African music and Sardinian vocalism. A work with a Mediterranean flavour.
