Big Verb Lyrics

She tries to find the weak spots
She tries to push through
To her, I'm not a criminal, she appears
And wants the sentence reducedNow I need to restrain
Don't wanna give in
Let me pay for the crimes I've committedEverything is caving in
From the weight of her world
My self evasing fortress is too weak
To withstand the self-assuredJust get out while you can
He'll take you away
Once it's gone, you'll understandWill you please save her from myself?
Don't wanna hurt anybody else
So I build my castle high
Warning you to stay awayThe war, I think it's over
But nobody really won
And as I stumble through the rubble
Then I see what kept her from getting in
A weary heart and the thickest of skinSave her from myself?

Don't wanna hurt anybody else
And will you please save her from myself?
Don't wanna hurt anybody elseSo I build my castle high
Warning you to stay away
Warning you to stay away

The Mayfield Four was formed in the middle of 1996 in Spokane, Washington, by four childhood friends who shared a love for music and performing. They were Myles Kennedy (lead vocals, lead guitar), Craig Johnson (rhythm guitar) (both formerly of Citizen Swing), Marty Meisner (bass guitar), and Zia Uddin (drums). During the Fall of 1996, the band recorded a demo titled Thirty Two Point Five Hours which quickly caught the attention of numerous music-industry professionals, and a bidding war ensued amongst several prominent record companies, yielding an offer from Epic Records.
