White Flag Lyrics

My guard fell for you today, now I will surrender
Take this prisoner, make him something better
Reach down and pull me up, don't let your captive go
'Cause love's wounds have made me weak
Can't stand up on my own'Cause you bring me to my knees
For you I'd do anythingWhite flag flies above, this is what I've chosen
I'll change anything now that my pride is broken'Cause you bring me to my knees
For you I'd do anythingThe grace you give will always fill me up
And I'll savor every bit of that fortune
But if in time this love turns to dust
I pray I don't endure that torture'Cause you bring me to my knees
For you I'd do anythingCan you show me how to feel again?
I'll do anything, you need my friend
And together we will always span time
For you I'd do anything

The Mayfield Four was formed in the middle of 1996 in Spokane, Washington, by four childhood friends who shared a love for music and performing. They were Myles Kennedy (lead vocals, lead guitar), Craig Johnson (rhythm guitar) (both formerly of Citizen Swing), Marty Meisner (bass guitar), and Zia Uddin (drums). During the Fall of 1996, the band recorded a demo titled Thirty Two Point Five Hours which quickly caught the attention of numerous music-industry professionals, and a bidding war ensued amongst several prominent record companies, yielding an offer from Epic Records.
