Black Bread - Athena Tergis & Laura Risk

Laura Risk & Athena Tergis are two young, phenomenally gifted up-and-coming fiddle players. The duo hail from San Francisco, but the scope of their material and musical influences range from Celtic traditional to jazz. They think of themselves as sisters, having met 17 years ago in pre-school. In 1987, after winning the U.S. Junior National Scottish Fiddling Championship, Athena introduced Laura to Celtic music and they have been playing duets together ever since. Over the years their repertoire has expanded to include their own compositions. Their debut album Journey Begun was nominated for the Album of the Year award in the Bay area of California.
