Blue Steel Dues Lyrics

(Dickie Peterson & Andrew "Duck" MacDonald)
Stripped of my pride at the age of twenty-one
Lived my life with a knife and a gun
Fought really hard for all I had
Only to lose it to the man
Yeah, lost it all
Oh, lost it all.Now they got me
I'm chained again
Caught on the run
Caught on the run
Took my woman, my money, and my guns
And told me, "Boy, your trouble just begun
Oh, just begun."Baby, don't you tell me you found somebody new
Baby, don't make me start collecting
The Blue Steel Dues
Those Blue Steel Dues.Baby, I'll be home
I'll be there in due time
Just you be waiting at the railroad line

Been gone so long
And I got bad news
I'm coming home with those Blue Steel Dues
I got bad news
Oh, yeah, yeah.Baby, don't you tell me you found somebody new
Don't make me start collecting
The Blue Steel Dues
The Blue Steel Dues
The Blue Steel Dues
I think I'm going to kill somebody, baby!Stripped of my pride at the age of twenty-one
Lived my life with a knife and a gun
Fought really hard for all I had
Only to lose it to the man
Oh, lost it all
The Blue Steel Dues
The Blue Steel Dues. The Blue Steel Dues
The Blue Steel Dues
The Blue Steel Dues
Don't want no
No Blue Steel Dues.

Blue Cheer is an American blues rock group of the late 1960s and early 1970s, who helped to pioneer heavy metal music. Based in San Francisco, original personnel were singer/bassist Dickie Peterson, guitarist Leigh Stephens, and drummer Paul Whaley. A power trio, the band was named after a variety of LSD promoted by underground chemist and Grateful Dead backer Owsley Stanley. This variety of LSD took its name from a popular laundry detergent. Their first hit was a cover version of Eddie Cochran's "Summertime Blues" from their debut album Vincebus Eruptum (1968).
