Body And Soul Lyrics

My heart is sad and lonely
For you I sigh, for you dear only
Why haven't you seen it
I'm all for you body and soulI spend my days in longing
And wondering why it's me you're wronging
I tell you I mean it
I'm all for you body and soulI can't believe it
It's hard to conceive it
That you'd turn away romance
Are you pretending
It looks like the ending
Unless I could have just one more chance to prove, dearMy life a wreck you're making
You know I'm yours for just the taking
I'd gladly surrender myself to you body and soulMy life a wreck you're making
You know I'm yours for the very taking
I'd gladly surrender myself to you body and soul

Coleman Randolph Hawkins (November 21, 1904 – May 19, 1969), nicknamed Hawk and sometimes "Bean", was an American jazz tenor saxophonist. While Hawkins is strongly associated with the swing music and big band era, he had a role in the development of bebop in the 1940s.
Fellow saxophonist Lester Young, known as "Pres", commented in a 1959 interview with The Jazz Review: "As far as I'm concerned, I think Coleman Hawkins was the President first, right? As far as myself, I think I'm the second one." Miles Davis once said: "When I heard Hawk, I learned to play ballads."
