Boogie Lyrics

My gal boogie's and she boogie's in the street
She's got the boogie oogie boogie in her feet
Boogie's out of time and she boogie's to the beat
Boogie's in her car and she boogie's in her seatAin't no tellin' if my baby's comin' home
She might boogie and shake it til dawn
Boogied all night til the band was gone
And then she came home and she boogied on the lawnWhen my baby was a little boogie bean
She had the boogie in her like you never seen
The doctor said there's only one remedy
You do the boogie oogie til the boogie gets freeDo do doodle oodle oodle oodle ooh
Do do doodle oodle oodle oodle ooh
Doodle ooh do doodle ooh do doodle ooh do
Boogie with you

John Cowan Hartford (December 30, 1937– June 4, 2001) was an American country and bluegrass composer and musician known for his mastery of the fiddle and banjo, as well as for his witty lyrics, unique vocal style, and extensive knowledge of Mississippi River lore. Hartford performed with a variety of ensembles throughout his career, and is perhaps best known for his solo performances where he would interchange the guitar, banjo, and fiddle from song to song. He also invented his own shuffle tap dance move, and clogged on an amplified piece of plywood while he played and sang.
