Born At the Right Time Lyrics

Never been lonely
Never been lied to
Never had to scuffle in fear
Nothing denied to
Born at the instant
The church bells chime
The whole world whispering
You're born at the right time
Down among the reeds and rushes
A baby boy was found
His eyes as clear as centuries
His silky hair was brown
And never been lonely
Never been lied to
Never had to scuffle in fear
Nothing denied to
Born at the instant
The church bells chime

The whole world whispering
You're born at the right time
Whao whao whao
Ohh I can go
Yea, me and my buddies we are traveling people, yea
We like to go down to restaurant row
Spend those euro dollars
All the way from Washington to Tokyo
But I see them in the airport lounge
Upon their mother's breast
And they follow me with open eyes
Their uninvited guest
And never been lonely
Never been lied to
Never had to scuffle in fear
Nothing denied to
Born at the instant
The church bells chime
And the whole world whispering
Born at the right time
You're born at the right time, ooh
Born at the right time
Too many people on the bus from the airport
Too many holes in the crust of the earth
The planet groans
Every time it registers another birth
But down among the reeds and rushes
A baby girl was found
Her eyes as clear as centuries
Her silky hair was brown
Never been lonely
Never been lied to
Never had to scuffle in fear
Nothing denied to
Born at the instant
The church bells chime
And the whole world whispering
You're born at the right time, yeah
You're born at the right time, you're
You're born at the right time, woo
You're born at the right time
Born at the instant
The church bells chime
The whole world whispering
You born at the right time

The Kingston Trio was formed in 1957 in the Palo Alto, California area by Bob Shane, Nick Reynolds, and Dave Guard, who were just out of college. Greatly influenced by The Weavers, the calypso sounds of Harry Belafonte, and other semi-popular folk artists such as the Gateway Singers and the Tarriers, they were discovered playing at a college club called the Cracked Pot by Frank Werber, a local publicist then working at the Hungry i.
