Bowling green Lyrics

Way down in Bowling Green
Prettiest girls I've ever seen
A man in Kentucky sure is lucky
To love down in Bowling GreenBowling Green folks treat you kind
They let you think your own mind
A man in Kentucky sure is lucky
In Bowling Green you walk your own lineOh, Kentucky sunshine makes the heart unfold
It warms the body and I know it touches the soul
Blue Grass is find, Kentucky owns my mindThe fields down in Bowling Green
Have the softest grass I've ever seen
A man in Kentucky sure is lucky
To lie down in Bowling Green, yeahBowling Green girls treat you right
They wear dresses cut country tight
A man in Kentucky sure is lucky
If he's seen the Bowling Green lightOh, Kentucky sunshine makes the heart unfold
It warms the body and I know it touches the soul
Blue Grass is find, Kentucky owns my mindAh, Bowling Green, ah, Bowling Green
Way down in Bowling Green

Yeah

Vern Gosdin (August 5, 1934 – April 28, 2009) was a traditional country singer with a strong country voice. Some of his best material were not #1 hits.
As country music swung back toward traditional styles in the 1980s, an inheritor of the soulful honky tonk style of Lefty Frizzell and Merle Haggard rose to the top of the business and notched hit after barroom hit. Sometimes he was known simply as "the Voice." Born in Woodland, AL, Vern Gosdin idolized the Louvin Brothers and the Blue Sky Boys as a young man and sang in a gospel quartet called the Gosdin Brothers.
