Broken Doll Lyrics

I am a broken doll and you are the puppeteer
Take control for me and wipe away my fearsI don't claim to be perfect
I know I am damaged good
But I wanna be led out of darkness
Just like every lady wouldLink my wounds and watch them
Seal with your healing heart
Embrace my sadness, look after me
'Cause there is no one else I 'd askI am a broken doll and you are the puppeteer
Take control for me and wipe away my fears
Piece me all together, the broken eye and sweet
You thought my heart was made of wood
But I can hear it beatI am scared of shadows in the night
When you are not there by my side
Sick of nightmares in my sleep
When there is no place I can hideSee the beauty in the blood
That drips down from my eyes
Hold the parts that were ripped out
That took me by surpriseI am a broken doll and you are the puppeteer

Take control for me and wipe away my fears
Piece me all together the broken eye and sweet
You thought my heart was made of wood
But I can hear it beatBoom, boom, here it goes, boom, boom
To the sound of the grand piano
I am dancing in your light
And I like it hereI am a broken doll and you are the puppeteer
Take control for me and wipe away my fears
Am broken doll and you are the puppeteerTake control for me and wipe away my fears
Piece me all together the broken eye and sweet
You thought my heart was made of wood
But I can hear it beatI'm a broken doll and you are the puppeteer
Take control for me and wipe away my fears
Piece me all together the broken eye and sweet
You thought my heart was made of wood
But I can hear it beat

Cult Tamworth, UK rockers, now recording again after a 16 year break. Originally formed in 1984, the band released a series of demos on cassette before their 7" vinyl debut Clutching At Straws in 1988. This was swiftly followed by the Wasted But Dangerous 12" EP in the same year. They were highly regarded live performers and eventually caught the attention of Rick Rubin's Def American label, but their debut full length album (Live Fast, Die Fast in 1989) saw little commercial success, oft-attributed to Rubin's very flat production.
