Burdens Lyrics

Something's got me down again
I feel the walls closing in
If you could only read my mind
Tell me what would you find?Show me where it all began
Now could you help me understand?
And the toll it's taking, everyday I'm achingLiving in danger, I'm a hazard to myself
Why can't these problems belong to someone else?
I need an angel to protect me from myself
And take these burdens off my mind, ooh yeahI wish I knew the words to say
To make it all go away
Even when it's plain to see
It's hard to believe'Cuz when your heart's been broken
All you're hope's been stolenLiving in danger, I'm a hazard to myself
Why can't these problems belong to someone else?
I need an angel to protect me from myself
And take these burdens off my mindI'm running on faith, I really don't know
If it's too late or which way to go
It's a matter of time, will I ever know

Oh, before I lose control? Yeah'Cuz when your heart's been broken
All you're hope's been stolenLiving in danger, I'm a hazard to myself
Why can't these problems belong to someone else?
I need an angel to protect me from myself
And take these burdens off my mind, yeah, off my mind, oh, oh

Producer and multi-instrumentalist Teleseen builds abstract dub soundscapes into complexly layered fields of ambiance that have their roots as much in of post-modern theories of space and structure as they do in the works of artist like Sly and Robbie and Scientist. Rhythms are woven into densely processed noises and field recordings sourced from origins as diverse as a shortwave radio transmissions, mixer feedback, static and defective studio equipment recorded in the US, to the sounds of street corners everywhere from Crown Heights to Kampala.
