Carolyn's Fingers Lyrics

When he said, "You are full of love"
She fell down into this dirty mess
Some people see me laugh and tell us
It's wrong to make fun of meEven they don't give any more
Try, try to fall
She fell down into this messEven then they don't give
Try, try to fall
She fell down and he's so sick
Of it all and of meThis part, not out of her saw fit to drop
Whispers might prove it all
You're just closer to me when you fall
But you broke, this would prove it allYou just closer to me
But you broke, this would prove it all
Sleep now, you susur, try to talk
Reach out for that handReach out for that hand
And even they don't give any more
Try, try to fall
Even then they don't give

Try, try to fallYou just closer to me at the fall
But you don't want, want my hand
You're just closer to me
But you don't want, want my hand

Cocteau Twins were an innovative and influential Scottish dream pop band. Forming in 1979 in Grangemouth, Scotland, UK (the name taken from an obscure song by fellow Scots Simple Minds), they built a sound based on woozy atmospherics and singer Elizabeth Fraser's unmatchable vocals, most of which featured lyrics of made-up words and words plucked at random from the dictionary. Their first release was "Garlands" in 1982 on 4AD Records, which was received well. Founding member Will Heggie left the group in 1983 and soon joined fellow Grangemouth band Lowlife.
