Casablanca Lyrics

I'm watching the sky turn from black to the grey
And this is the end I know we're not afraid
Surrender your hands it's to late to let go
We're still breathing, don't stop breathing
The ground is falling under my feet
We're still around here
We're fading with time
There's no fear open your eyes
We're standing still now
We're going nowhere
It's not to late to crawl it's not to late to
Reach the end I'll meet you there
In a world that never let you in
In a world where you found grace
I watched the water pull you in
(As it carries you away)
I know you won't let me fall on my own

There's no reason to abandon here
Open your eyes and witness the power
Of a place that's lost control
His creation at its finest
It's what we call our home
My life passes by as the sky starts to fade
If this is the end I know I'm not afraid
The meaning of this is becoming so clear
Prepare for the worst this is going to be hell
I know you won't be there I fall alone
Tell me why I am still standing here

80s Electro-pop band, Vitamin Z were founded by Geoff Barradale and Nick Lockwood in Sheffield, UK. - a city notable for artists such as as Joe Cocker, The Human League, Pulp and Arctic Monkeys.

Barradale and Lockwood recorded their Geffen debut, Rites Of Passage in 1985 . It featured an impressive cast of supporting musicians, including Peter Gabriel, drummer Jerry Marotta, Chris Hughes, (percussionist for Adam Ant), guitarist Neil Hubbard, violinist Simon House and arranger Ann Dudley.

An especially integral part of the Rites Of Passage sessions was guitarist David Rhodes, perhaps best known for his work with Peter Gabriel and Blancmange. David went on to become a full-fledged member of Vitamin Z.

Produced and recorded by Ross Cullum, Rites Of Passage featured eight Barradale/Lockwood originals including their debut single "Burning Flame." After a promising first single and a tour supporting Midge Ure, the band appeared to lose momentum and the second album, "Sharp Stone Rain" was not released until 1989 - by which time the record buying public appeared to have lost interest and Vitamin Z disappeared completely off the radar.

Lead singer, Geoff Barradale has subsequently re-emerged as manager to the Arctic Monkeys, guiding them to phenomenal success. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
