Catch 22 Lyrics

I read you like an autograph
You love the spotlight
You shoot me like a photograph
You get me uptightYou're gunnin' for me every day
Go straight for the heart
Say you want me, you push me away
Say it tears you apartYou're on the inside
I'm on the outside
Don't matter whose side
You take the other sideI can see you walkin' down the aisle
You're thinkin' long range
I've seen you work the miracle
Mile for loose changeYou can have it anyway you want
Your fancy dinners in the restaurants
Even though they leave you hungry inside
It's a free rideYou show your bad side
It's so undignified
Get off your back side

You're talkin' suicideGo and be what you wanna be
Sink your time and your hooks in me
You can hold me down
Take me 'round and 'round and 'roundYou catch me when I'm 'bout to fall
But you leave me there
What really matters doesn't matter at all
You don't careIt's hard to figure in your life
It's a roundabout
You're makin' it so hard to give in
But you won't let me outYou take the right side
I'm on the wrong side
No matter who's side
We're talkin' suicide

Billy Squier (born May 12, 1950, in Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts) is a rock musician. Squier had a string of arena rock and power ballad hits in the 1980s. He is probably best known for the song "The Stroke" on his 1981 album release Don't Say No, which has been certified as Triple-Platinum by the RIAA. Other hits include "Lonely Is The Night", "Everybody Wants You", "Rock Me Tonite" and "In The Dark". Squier left the music industry in the mid-1990s, due in part to issues with his label. He has been active in the 2000s, touring both as a single artist and as a member of the 'Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band'. Before fronting the band titled in his name, Squire was the frontman of the power pop group Piper.
