Cheque Book Lyrics

Well, my mom and papa told me they had some words to say
They said, "Get out", I said, "I'm leaving anyway"
I made some money playing this here guitar
Filled in a form and went and bought myself a carI've got my cheque book, baby
Got my bags all packed
If you're comin' with me, get in the motor
Throw your suitcase in the backWell, I've been here for so long, sick of this whole town
Ain't getting younger and it's time I got around
Gotta go some places, I ain't never been before
When I turn that corner, mama, you won't see me no moreI've got my cheque book, baby
Got my bags all packed
If you're comin' with me, get in the motor
Throw your suitcase in the backWell, I've been here for so long, sick of this whole town
Ain't getting younger and it's time I got around
I gotta go some places, I ain't never been before
When I turn that corner, mama, you won't see me no moreI've got my cheque book, baby
I got my bags all packed
If you're comin' with me, get in the motor

Throw your suitcase in the back

Dr. Feelgood are a British pub rock band, formed in 1971. The classic line-up included Lee Brilleaux (b. 1953, d. 7 April 1994; vocals/harmonica), Wilko Johnson (b. John Wilkinson, 1947; guitar), John B. Sparks (b. 1953; bass) and John 'The Big Figure' Martin (drums). Initially based in Canvey Island, Essex, on the Thames estuary, Dr. Feelgood broke into the London circuit in 1974. Brilleaux's menacing personality complemented Johnson's propulsive, jerky stage manner, while the guitarist's staccato style dominated the group's idiosyncratic brand of angular rhythm and blues.
