Since he was 12, Philly-born musician/singer/writer/producer Chuck Schaeffer was obsessed with one thing: playing his guitar. While other guys were out chasing girls, he chose to stay in his room and work on his chops. Determined to succeed, he paid his dues playing in countless cover bands and dreamt of the day he’d have his own recording studio, gather up his most talented friends and make his own album of original songs. With the release of his debut CD, “Uncommon Sense”, that dream is now reality.

Armed with a solid set of eight self-penned, melodic, unforgettable, thought-provoking songs spattered with romance, sarcasm and self-empowerment, Chuck built his dream studio, passionately immersed himself in digital engineering and then turned his gifted musical friends loose on the arrangements. Deliberately avoiding synthesizers, sequencers and drum machines, the Chuck Schaeffer Band evolved into a tasty, organic, eclectic blend of everything we want from great rock and roll music: visceral, scorching, in-your-face guitars, growling Hammond organ, chunky rock piano, killer drums with intense backbeats; thick, juicy bass lines and rock-solid vocals; all injected with heavy doses of British Rock, Blues, Pop and even an R&B nod to his Philly roots.

But perhaps the greatest qualities of CSB’s “Uncommon Sense” are that it’s so imaginative, so inspired and so absolutely original. It’s pure, unadulterated Chuck Schaeffer. From start to finish, CSB doesn’t remind you of anybody else. What you’re hearing is Chuck’s dream come true; his own distinctive brand of hard driving, toe tapping, sizzling hot rock and roll. It’s drenched with remarkable musicianship, unexpected creativity and uncompromising honesty, qualities that are sorely absent in the current crop of formula-based, heavily cloned, overproduced rock bands. Ironically, it’s common sense why rock fans everywhere are so psyched about the music of CSB… because it rocks!
