Mechanical Bride is Lauren Doss, a Brighton, United Kingdom based singer-songwriter. Her label Transgressive Records had this to say of her in their ‘Tips For 2007’ list: “We've never heard distant and lonely folk music quite this forceful and bracing... ambient, hypnotic, and sumptuous singing to boot - downbeat, occasionally hopeful, always beautiful... and she's only 20.” She has also been compared to Björk.
