Circus Lights Lyrics

You're tired and you say, you're angry
You're thankful for this blessed rain
And you think you'd know
But your old friends have to tell you againYour books taught you all you know
Your tastes and patterns and your TV shows
But you can never follow where they won't let you go
Sometimes it's so hard to knowYou want to display your charms on this bright night
You want to display your charms on this bright night
You want to display your charms over these circus Christmas lightsYour cares your misanthropy
Your distant gaze is missing me
And your jewelery that's what blinded me
From the realityYou want to display your charms on this bright night
You want to display your charms on this bright holy night
You want to display your charms over these circus Christmas lightsYou want to display your charms on this bright night
You want to display your charms on this bright holy night
You want to display your charms over these circus Christmas lightsOver the sea
Over the land and the cityOver the sea
Over the land and the cityOh, yeah, over the sea

Over the land and the city, cityOver the sea
Over the land and the city

Deacon Blue is a Scottish pop band formed in Glasgow in 1985. Their name came from the title of the Steely Dan song "Deacon Blues". Success came for the band in 1989 when their second studio album, When The World Knows Your Name, topped the UK Album Charts. The album included "Real Gone Kid" which became their first UK top ten single. After releasing further albums in 1991 and 1993, they split up in 1994. Five years later, in 1999, the band held a reunion gig and this led to the album, Walking Back Home. Since then they have released Homesick (2001) and The Hipsters (2012).
