Clowns Lyrics

Maybe I'm a loser, I guess I will never know
When you see my eyes, do you stare and make it all right?Lately, I don't see things the way that I used to see
'Til the day I die, I will be but never know why
And life is complicated and I need celebrating, yeah, yeahI, I should be laughing with the clowns on my birthday
I, I should be dancing all around on my birthdayWhy don't you just kill me and save all the misery?
And I'm sure you'll find you have left nothing behindI will keep on dancing inside of the tiny mind
'Til the day I die, I will be but never know why
And life is complicated, and life is celebrating, yeah, yeahI, I should be laughing with the clowns on my birthday
I, I should be dancing all around on my birthdaySo bring in my clownsI, I should be laughing with the clowns on my birthday
I, I should be dancing on the moon on my birthday, yeah, yeahI should've been laughing with the clowns on my birthday
I should've been dancing all around on my birthdaySo bring in my clowns, where are my clowns?
Where are the clowns? So where are the clowns?
Bring in my clowns, bring in my clowns, bring in my clowns

Filtering classic British pop songwriting through an eclectic alternative-rock sensibility, the London quintet Bottlefly was founded in 1997 by vocalist Mark Arnell and keyboardist Richie Wermerling. The lineup was rounded out by guitarist Lizzard, bassist Lawrence Addison, and drummer Danny Martin, all former members of a previous Arnell-led band called the Velvet Dogs. Bottlefly's eponymous self-titled debut album was released in 2000, finding the band augmenting their sound with touches of ska, psychedelia, R&B, and electronic dance music.
