Colorblind Lyrics

I've been tossin' and turnin' all night
But I can't sleep a wink with you on my mind
I like to think in time I'll be okay
Like to catch a breeze and just sail away
Loneliness is a simple point of view
I gotta find a way to change that too
To forget about you
CHORUS
I wanna be colorblind
And I would never think about your soft green eyes
Sweet blonde hair would never cross my mind
There'd be no black gown you'd slip into at night
Maybe I'd forget about your warm brown skin
Stop dreamin' bout the taste of salty red lips
I wouldn't be hurtin' now and missing you
I wouldn't know a single thing about blue

Like wildflowers loves a pretty sight
But underneath the petels there's a thorn sometimes
And hey girl you're a pistol when you make up your mind
And there's not thinkin' that you'll come back this time
And in the closet there's a few things that you left
A purple negligee and a yellow cotton dress
My mind is such a mess
CHORUS
Baby I'd forget about your warm brown skin
Stop dreamin' about the taste of salty red lips
I wouldn't be hurtin now and missing you
I wouldn't know a single thing about blue

Dawn Golden and Rosy Cross is the work of 24 year old producer Dexter Tortoriello. He gained exposure early last year when his other (much more serene) project, Houses began getting wide spread attention. Dawn Golden and Rosy Cross is it's opposite. Influenced by everything from doom metal bands like Neurosis to avant noise artists such as Xiu Xiu, the songs pound with a calm, but dire urgency. The project began in Tortoriello's bedroom as an experiment in different recording techniques, and quickly escalated as vocals were added and ideas rounded out.
