Uday Benegal is a musician, writer and aspiring filmmaker. He was the frontman and principal songwriter for the award-winning Indian rock band Indus Creed, throughout its first period of existence (1985-1999) as well as since the band's recent reunion in October 2010. In 1999, Benegal and bandmate Jayesh Gandhi (guitars) moved to New York and started their Indo-rock outfit Alms for Shanti, with whom their released two albums.
