Cool Jerk Lyrics

Cool jerk
Cool jerk
Cool jerk
Cool jerkWell, I know a cat who can really do the cool jerk
I know a cat who can really do the cool jerk
Well, this cat that you're talkin' about
Has nothing, nothing on me
'Cuz I know I'm the heppest cat
The heppest cat that ever could beWell, they see me walkin' down the street
The say hey
All them fellas drop to their knees
The say hey
I'm the reason that they don't smirk
'Cuz they know I'm the queen of the cool jerkCool jerk
Cool jerk
Cool jerk
Cool jerkOkay girls, being it down
Bring it down real

Well that's right
Now, I know a lot of you out there are thinkin'
Man, are those girls fools?
When way deep down inside
You know we're way coolNow Gina, Hon, she beats that drum
Oh man, she beat it mean
That mighty sound will shake the ground
C'mon and do your thingRight now
Oh, that sounds good
I wanna hear some of that bad, bad bass
A one, a two, a one two three fourYou're playin' baby
You are smoking
C'mon everybody
I wanna hear you allCan you do, can you do, can you do, can you do
Can you do, can you do, can you do, can you do
Can you do, can you do, can you do, can you do
Can you do, can you do, can you do, can you do
The cool jerk
C'mon people
Cool jerk, heyWell, they see me walkin' down the street
The say hey
All them fellas drop to their knees
The say hey
I'm the reason that they don't smirk
'Cuz they know I'm the queen of the cool jerkCool jerk
C'mon people
Cool jerk
Everybody now
Cool jerk

Wayne Fontana founded the band with Bob Lang, Ric Rothwell, and Eric Stewart in 1963. They released a few unsuccessful singles before recording "Um Um Um Um Um Um" in 1964, which was a major hit in Britain and led to a tour with Brenda Lee. They also had a number one hit in the United States with "The Game of Love."
After a tour of America and some more unsuccessful singles, Fontana abruptly left the band in the middle of a concert in 1965. Guitarist Eric Stewart suddenly became the lead singer of the band, which immediately dropped "Wayne Fontana" from its name.
