Curse Lyrics

[Verse 1 - Chris Brown]Yesterday I fell in love
Today feels like my funeral
I just got hit by a bus
Shouldn've been so beautiful
Don't know why I gave my heart, gave my trust, gave everything
You think that if I had the chance
To do it over again
I'd do something different
Make better decisions
Save me from my ignorance
But I keep
Making the same mistakes before I
I see the danger but I go forward
I'm sitting here trying to keep my composure
Knowing inside I'm broken and tore up
She got me gone I'm on her like a drug
I try to go but end up wanting more
Stuck in my head baby there's a picture

I Wanna be clean but I can't get rid of her
[Diddy]uh
Give my all you take it from me
And don't even replace it for me
I wish you just fake it for me
I wish I can make you love me more
You can't tell I fucks wit you I needed you
I thought that you understood that based on how I treated you
I don't pay attention to the rumors that you feed into
Know you're missing something I wish I was what completed you
[Chorus]She's like a drug
And I don't think I can get rid of her
Cuz she got me in this curse
And it dawned on me I can't do nothing with her
This woman's worth
I Can't find my way out
And it hurts
I tried but she won't let me go
Oh,Oh,oh,oh,oh she won't let me go
Oh,oh,oh,oh,oh,oh,oh
[Verse 2]I feel like a killer hit me
The weapon was concealed initially
But I felt so much pain from it
You deserved to feel it with me more
I feel like I beg wit you I plead wit you
I don't comprehend how you can't love when its so easy to
I thought you could do it I believed in the naive in you
I just need to breathe baby now I got the freedom to
Damn?
[Chris Brown]Yesterday I fell in love
Today feels like my funeral
I just got hit by a bus
Shouldn've been so beautiful
Don't know why I gave my heart, gave my trust, gave everything
You think that if I had the chance
To do it over again
I'd do something different
Make better decisions
Save me from my ignorance
But I keep
Making the same mistakes before I
I see the danger but I go forward
I'm sitting here trying to keep my composure
Knowing inside I'm broken and tore up
She got me gone I'm on her like a drug
I try to go but end up wanting more
Stuck in my head baby there's a picture
I wanna be clean but I can't get rid of her
[Chorus]

Formed in early 2000, The Drowning Season is a Baltimore, Maryland, gothic rock band consisting of Matt Slowikowski (vocals, programming), Michael “Chewka” Marchewka (guitars) and multi-instrumentalist Sideshow (taking on drum, bass and synth duties). Major influences include The Sisters of Mercy, The Mission (UK) and Fields of the Nephilim.

The band’s first release was a four song EP entitled SIX HOLLOW PERFECT THINGS. Included were the songs “Six Feet Under,” “Hollow,” “Perfect (Dream)” and “Common Things.”

The debut full length HOLLOW was released in June 2002 on the Morphenic Release imprint. Live ventures followed and included performances alongside scene favorites like The Mission (UK), The Cruxshadows, Voltaire, Gene Loves Jezebel, Stromkern and Assemblage 23. Many of the songs on HOLLOW still receive generous club and gothic radio play, while the title track was included on both the M&A MusicArt compilation “Angel Child VI: The Need for Silence” and the Cop International issued “Dark Awakening: Volume 4.”

A three-song EP titled NEW DISEASE followed. The EP once again showcased The Drowning Season’s unique brand of guitar influenced gothic rock forged on their earlier releases. The band quickly returned to live activity. The Last Dance, Bella Morte, Ego Likeness and The Start were among the high profile acts with whom they would share the stage during this series of shows.

February 2009 saw the release of the long anticipated second full length album, CURSE. The Drowning Season opened for The Azoic at Dracula's Ball in Philadelphia (one of the largest dark music events in the United States), and the band traveled to Chicago to perform at a Wax Trax II Records showcase. Their dance floor favorite "Angel of the Odd" was included on the "WTII Sunday Showcases 4 Year Anniversary Sampler."

The Drowning Season is currently writing and recording songs for their next album, DRUM MACHINES AND AMPHETAMINES.

Over the years, gothic rock had many voices and as many faces. And while electronic dance music continues to flourish in the dark music scene, one band defies the status quo to produce dark original guitar-oriented music that harkens back to the days of pointy boots and clove cigarettes.
