Dancefloor - Christian Meyer

Christian Meyer (not to be confused with Peruvian actor/singer Christian Meier), born in Milan, Italy on the 27th of January 1963, is best known as the drummer with popular rock band Elio e Le Storie Tese.

He began playing drums at the age of seven and started his first drum lessons with Enrico Lucchini approximately two years later. At the age of 18 he moved to Frankfurt and landed his first jazz-oriented gig. After two years he came back to Italy. Since then he has played many different styles (pop, rock, jazz) with numerous important Italian and international artists for live concerts, festivals and CDs.

Since 1988 he has been a member of Elio e le Storie Tese, with whom he has toured, and recorded several albums and videos (initially only employed on live dates, Meyer officially joined the core line-up in 1993). The group has sold over 1 million copies of their CDs, and in 1999 they won the MTV Europe Award as best Italian group.

In 2001 Christian was voted Best Italian Drummer by an Italian Internet poll.

Since 1989 he has performed more than 200 clinics (Sabian, Yamaha) all over Italy. He's also developed a parallel career as a fusion drummer with EelST side-projects Biba Band and Trio Bobo, where he can showcase his full range of talent.
