Dearest Darling (Alternate Take) Lyrics

Dearest darling
Dearest darling
Dearest darlingDon't you know
The lord above
Created you
Just for me to lovePicked you out
From all the rest
Because he knew I loved you bestDearest darling
Dearest darling
Dearest darling, take my hand, take my handI once had a heart
So trill and true
But now it's gone
From me to youTake care of it
Like I have done
For you have two hearts
And I have noneDearest darling
Dearest darling
Dearest, yeah yeah, dearest, yeah yeah

Dearest, yeah yeah, dearest, yeah yeah
Darling, yeah yeah, darling, yeah yeahIf I get to heaven
Before you do
I'll try to make a hole
And pull you throughWoah, dearest, dearest, dearestIf I go to heaven
And you not there
I'm gonna write your name
On the heavenly stairIf you aren't there
By turn of day
Then I know baby
You know the wayWoah, dearest, dearest, dearest
Oh sweet baby, oh sweet baby, oh, oh, oh

Bo Diddley (December 30, 1928 - June 2, 2008) "The Originator," was an influential American rock and roll singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He is often cited as a key figure in the transition of blues into rock and roll, by introducing more insistent, driving rhythms and a harder-edged guitar sound. He was born Otha Ellas Bates in McComb, Mississippi and later took the name Ellas McDaniel, after his adoptive mother, Gussie McDaniel. He adopted the stage name Bo Diddley, which is probably a southern black slang phrase meaning "nothing at all," as in "he ain't bo diddley.
