Dearly Departed (feat. Esmé Patterson) Lyrics

Ooh
Ooh
Ooh
OohWell
You and I both know that the house is haunted
And you and I both know that the ghost is me
You used to catch me in your bed-sheets just a-rattling your chains
Well back then baby, it didn't seem so strangeYou used to bite, I used to moan
But now I'm mumbling and you choke
Well I ain't so scary on my own
Tell me honey, what's a dagger without a cloak?
Well I don't know'Cause
You and I both know that the house is haunted
Yeah you and I both know that the ghost is me
You used to catch me in your bed-sheets just a-rattling your chains
Well back then baby, it didn't seem so strangeIn the midnight hour, you came alive
I was looking for my crystal ball
I busy trying to charm that snake

When the sun came up we had no place to hide
And you had to tell your friends that my things where fake
I just had toYou and I both know that the house is haunted
Yeah you and I both know that the ghost is me
You used to catch me in your bed-sheets just a-rattling your chains
Well back then baby, it didn't seem so strangeBut even when one is dead and gone
It still take two to make a house a home
Well I'm as lonesome as the catacombs
I hear you call my name but no one's there
Except a new one in the airYou and I both know that the house is haunted
Yeah you and I both know that the ghost is me
You used to walk around screaming, all slamming all 'dem doors
Well I'm all grown up now and I don't scare easy no moreBut you and I both know
Ooh
Yeah you and I both know
Ooh
Yeah you and I both know
Ooh
Ooh

As Shakey Graves, Rose-Garcia from Austin, Texas, He plays a gnarly composite of blues and folk as a one-man-band of epic sonic proportions. The sound emitted from his hollow body guitar, mildly distorted amp and suitcase drum belie the young singer’s lean frame. He fingerpicks while keeping time with a double-pedal kick drum, hitting a snare fitted into his suitcase drum and a tambourine fashioned to its side. And when he sings, Rose-Garcia unleashes an unearthly howl.
