Deep In A Dream Lyrics

I dim all the lights and I sink in my chair
The smoke from my cigarette climbs through the air
The walls of my room fade away in the blue
And I'm deep in a dream of youThe smoke makes a stairway for you to descend
You come to my arms, may this bliss never end
For we love a new just as we used to do
When I'm deep in a dream of youThen from the ceiling, sweet music comes stealing
We glide through a lover's refrain, you're so appealing
That I'm soon revealing my love for you over againMy cigarette burns me, I wake with a start
My hand isn't hurt, but there's pain in my heart
Awake or asleep, every memory I'll keep
Deep in a dream of you

Conrad Yeatis "Sonny" Clark (July 21, 1931 – January 13, 1963) was an American jazz pianist who mainly worked in the hard bop idiom. Clark was born and raised in Herminie, Pennsylvania, a coal mining town southeast of Pittsburgh. At age 12, he moved to Pittsburgh. When visiting an aunt in California at age 20, Clark decided to stay and began working with saxophonist Wardell Gray. Clark went to San Francisco with Oscar Pettiford and after a couple months, was working with clarinetist Buddy DeFranco in 1953.
