Toronto’s Original DJ-JITEN, is considered by many the pioneer of the South Asian DJ/party scene in North America. Not only was he the first DJ in North America to play desi music at parties, he was the 1st to create the ever popular “Hindi Remix” genre. He started out in 1990 in his hometown of Toronto, Canada- where he DJ’d his first major event. Believe it or not, back then the concept of playing desi music at parties was non-existent.
