Desert Zenith - R. Kane

Melding styles between the worldly archaic and organic electronica, R. Kane has struck a cross-blend of vocal new age and ethnic down tempo that pulls from a historical tapestry of influences. As a multi instrumentalist, R. Kane colors his compositions with obscure world instruments, chilled beats, synthesizers and vocal beds reminiscent of ambient goth ala Dead Can Dance and Enigma.

2008 saw his 5 song EP 'Sacred Spaces' debut to genre critic acclaim. His epic new age style, mixed with global downtempo grooves gained him top 10 slots on many internet websites, a 3 page interview in 'New Age & New Sounds' magazine and was quickly signed onto Blue Pie Records the same year. The NewAgeReporter called 'Sacred Spaces' "both imaginative and accessible sounding like the work of an accomplished veteran rather than a rookie"

In 2010, R. Kane returned with a full length effort, 'Sectio Divina', broadening his sound with a darker tangent that was only lightly elluded to on the 5 song EP. This 10 track concept album introduced R. Kanes vocals on half of the release along with new instruments such as the Native American flute and Thai Khim (Thailand Dulcimer).
