Don't Tell Me Nothin' Lyrics

All my life ya been doing me wrong
Now, I don't know how to get alongBut don't ya tell me nothin'
But don't ya tell me nothin'
A-don't ya tell me nothin'
I can see
A-rock an rollin' be good for meNow don't ya tell me nothin'
A-don't ya tell me nothin'(harmonica & instrumental)You say it's a dog
When ya know it's a cat
You say it's a mouse
When you know it's a rat
You say it's fish
When you know it's a bird
Tell me nothin'
'Bout-a what you heardDon't ya tell me nothin'
But don't ya tell me nothin'
A-don't ya tell me nothin'
I can see
A-rockin' rollin' is good for meNow don't you tell me nothin'

A-don't ya tell me nothin'(harmonica, guitar & instrumental)You say it's right
And you know it's wrong
You say it's short
And you know it's longYou say it's low
When you know it's high
Tell me the truth
An don't tell no lieA-tell me nothin'
A-don't you tell-a me nothin'
Don't ya tell me nothin'
I can see
A-rockin' an rollin' is good for meA-don't you tell me nothin'
A-don't you tell me nothin'(harmonica & instrumental)'Ha!'You say it's black
Well you, know it's white
You say it's day
When you know it's night
You'll say it's good
Well you know, it's mean
It the finest music that I ever seenDon't you tell me nothin'
Don't you tell me nothin'
But don't tell me nothin'
I can see
A-rock an' rollin' is good for meDon't you tell me nothin'
A-don't you tell me nothin'(harmonica & instrumental)You say it's diamonds
And you know it's glass
You say it's good
When you know it's bad
You say it's meat
When you know it's bread
You tell me it's gold
And it's a hunk a-leadSo, don't ya tell-a me nothin'
Now, don't ya tell me nothin'
A-don't ya tell me nothin'
I can see
A-rockin' an rollin' is good for meNow rock, an tell me nothin'
Rock, an tell me nothin'

Willie Dixon (born July 1, 1915, Vicksburg, Miss., U.S.-died Jan. 29, 1992, Burbank, Calif.) was a U.S. musician who influenced the emergence of electric blues and rock music. In 1936 Dixon moved from his native Mississippi to Chicago, won an Illinois Golden Gloves boxing championship, and began selling his songs. He played double bass in several bands before joining Chess Records. His lively compositions, which he sold for as little as $30, included “Little Red Rooster,” “You Shook Me,” and “Back Door Man”; many were later recorded by Muddy Waters, Elvis Presley, and the Rolling Stones.
