Don't Walk Away Lyrics

Broken glass from the window shattered yesterday
Deep inside I feel the same
All the while reflections of the one that went away
Shine off these pale four wallsDissonance is the only song I want to sing
I would pray if I knew that you were listeningDon't walk away, don't walk away
I surrender to you today
This bended knee is breaking me
I'll surrender, I'll surrenderStaring down on pages of saltwater memories
Emotions etched from the heart
But that was bled so dry, there's nothing left to find
But the ashes of my, of my, of my soulDon't walk away, don't walk away
I surrender to you today
This bended knee is breaking me
I'll surrenderI'll surrender, will be better
This is my vow to changeIt stands to reason that some things were never meant to be
I should have known from the start
The race has been run and all is said and done
Ashes have been swept awayDon't walk away, don't walk away

I surrender to you today
This bended knee is breaking me
So I'll surrender, I'll surrender

The Mayfield Four was formed in the middle of 1996 in Spokane, Washington, by four childhood friends who shared a love for music and performing. They were Myles Kennedy (lead vocals, lead guitar), Craig Johnson (rhythm guitar) (both formerly of Citizen Swing), Marty Meisner (bass guitar), and Zia Uddin (drums). During the Fall of 1996, the band recorded a demo titled Thirty Two Point Five Hours which quickly caught the attention of numerous music-industry professionals, and a bidding war ensued amongst several prominent record companies, yielding an offer from Epic Records.
