Don't Work That Hard Lyrics

I need love for the power
Got to understand
I need love for the power
Got the upper hand
I need love for the power
Use it oh so fast
I need love for the power
Love will never last
And I don't work that hard (not for love)
Drowning in my teardrops (teardrops)
And I don't work that hard (not for love)
Drowning in my teardrops (teardrops)
Oh I'll be good, want you so much
Give me the word, wrap it for love
Oh I'll be true, oh I love you so much
Give me the word, the word I'll honor and obey

I submit for approval
Got to understand
I submit for approval
Got the upper hand
I submit for approval
Use it oh so fast
I submit for approval
Love will never last
And I don't work that hard (not for love)
Drowning in my teardrops (teardrops)
And I don't work that hard (not for love)
Drowning in my teardrops (teardrops)
Oh I'll be good, want you so much
Give me the word, wrap it for love
Oh I'll be true, oh I love you so much
Give me the word, the word I'll honor and obey
I got a piece for the wicked
Got to understand
I got a piece for the wicked
Got the upper hand
I got a piece for the wicked
Use it oh so fast
I got a piece for the wicked
Love will never last
I'm gonna work that hard (oh for love)
Even in my teardrops (teardrops)
I'm gonna work that hard (oh for love)
Even in my teardrops (teardrops)
I need love for the power
Got to understand
I need love for the power
Got the upper hand
I need love for the power
Use it oh so fast
I need love for the power
Love will never last
Got to understand
You got the upper hand
Use it oh so fast
Your love will never last

Formed in 1977 in Leeds, England, Scritti Politti is primarily a musical vehicle for singer-songwriter Green Gartside (real name Paul Julian Strohmeyer, b. 22 June 1956, Cardiff, Wales). Initially a left-wing-inspired post-punk British rock group, Scritti Politti developed into a more mainstream pop music project in the early to mid-1980s (following two heavy lineup changes). Released on the Rough Trade record label, "Sweetest Girl" became Scritti Politti's first song to chart, peaking at #64 on the UK singles chart...
