Down the River Lyrics

I've been wishing that you'd prove me wrong,
That you'd come clean and rue the damage the done,
Restore my faith in you
But you've got no reason to'Cause ain't it easier to just move on?
One door closing means another one
Opens unto
Some unsuspecting foolSure, you can forget about all the things you've done.
But what about the rest of us?
What about the rest of us?
High-tail it when it gets to be too much
But what about the rest of us?
What about the rest of us?
You can sell us down the river,
Sell us down the river
You were never the one
To sufferI've been hearing that you're leaving town.
The dust never settles when you're around.
Too many people with

Your name on top of their lists
Now, tell me, when you start again,
Where will you house your skeletons?
Or will they stay behind,
Your settlement in kind?Sure, you can forget about all the things you've done.
But what about the rest of us?
What about the rest of us?
High-tail it when it gets to be too much
But what about the rest of us?
What about the rest of us?
You can sell us down the river,
Sell us down the river
You were never the one
To sufferDown the river
Down the river
Down the river
Down the river

Destiny itself assembled the Crane Wives, and now they seek only to make music worthy of destiny. That, and act as silly as humanly possible. "The Crane Wife is an old Japanese tale. While there are many variations of the tale, a common version is that a poor man finds an injured crane on his doorstep (or outside with an arrow in it), takes it in and nurses it back to health. After he releases the crane, a woman appears at his doorstep with whom he falls in love and marries.
