Safe Ship, Harbored Lyrics

Watch me give up,
Honey, watch me give up
I swore I never would
But we've been wishing upon ourselves
Things that I forgot
I cannot doWhere does your faith form
Where does your faith form in me?
Don't break the bottle
Don't waste your blessings on meI am a safe ship, harbored,
A safe ship, harbored,
Losing all of my good years to the shallow waters
I ain't proud
I ain't proud
I wasn't born a safe ship
Something wore me downAll the places,
Honey, all the places
I'll never get to see
I'll always wonder what's across the tossing ocean

The world I'm at
Looks pretty flat to meWhere does your faith form
Where does your faith form in me?
Don't break the bottle
Don't waste your blessings on meI am a safe ship, harbored,
A safe ship, harbored,
Losing all of my good years to the shallow waters
I ain't proud,
I ain't proud,
I wasn't born a safe ship
Something wore me downWhere does your faith form
Where does your faith form in me?
Don't break the bottle
Don't waste your blessings on meWhere does your faith form
Where does your faith form in me?
Don't break the bottle
Don't dare waste your blessings on meI am a safe ship, harbored,
A safe ship, harbored,
Losing all of my good years to the shallow waters
I ain't proud,
I ain't proud,
I wasn't born a safe ship
Someone wore meI am a safe ship, harbored,
A safe ship, harbored,
Losing all of my good years to the shallow waters
I ain't proud,
I ain't proud,
I wasn't born a safe ship
Someone wore me down

Destiny itself assembled the Crane Wives, and now they seek only to make music worthy of destiny. That, and act as silly as humanly possible. "The Crane Wife is an old Japanese tale. While there are many variations of the tale, a common version is that a poor man finds an injured crane on his doorstep (or outside with an arrow in it), takes it in and nurses it back to health. After he releases the crane, a woman appears at his doorstep with whom he falls in love and marries.
