Down to the Sea Lyrics

Carry me down to the sea
Carry me down where they're waiting for me
That's where I want to be
That's where it all comes aroundWatching the ships pass by me
Friendships and small ships and hardships and dreams
That's where I want to be
Here, where it all comes aroundOh, my head is in the sand
All my life passin' byAll my days I have seen
All of the tears and the laughter and dreams
Movin' before me
Waves and the ocean and seaLife is a big tambourine
The more that you shake it, the better it seems
This is my wisdom
These are just words from the seaOh, my head is in the sand
All my days passin' byWhen I get older, settlin' down
Would you come down to the seaCarry me down to the sea again
Oh, carry me down to the sea again
Carry me down to the sea again

Carry me down to the sea againCarry me down, carry me down
Carry me down to the sea
Carry me down, carry me down
Carry me down to the seaWon't you please carry me down
Please carry me down
Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on
Down, down, down to the sea again, yeah, yes

Robert Anthony Plant CBE (born 20 August 1948, West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England) is a British rock singer famous for being the lead vocalist of one of the most influential rock bands of all time: Led Zeppelin. He is known for his powerful style with a wide vocal range. After Led Zeppelin's breakup following the sudden death of drummer John Bonham in 1980, Plant pursued a successful solo career. Popular tracks from this period include "Big Log," "Tall Cool One," and "I Believe." In 1984, Plant formed a short-lived all-star group with Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck and Phil Collins called The Honeydrippers, who had a Top Ten hit with a remake of the Phil Phillips' tune, "Sea of Love".

Plant's love of the music of Morocco led him to a new collaboration called Robert Plant And The Strange Sensation. The band's releases met with critical acclaim and numerous Grammy nominations. They completed the 2006 tour of Europe in September.

In 2007, Plant began recording and performing with bluegrass star Alison Krauss. A duet album, Raising Sand, was released on 23 October 2007 on Rounder Records. The album, recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles and produced by T-Bone Burnett met with enormous critical and commercial success.

The year of 2010 proves to be yet another successful year for the aging lemon squeezer. Durring the summer, Plant will be reuniting with his old, Pre-Zep group, The Band Of Joy, for a tour of the southern and mid continental tour of the US.
