Dreaming Casually Lyrics

Thee Midniters Dreaming casually
once in a while
just once in a while
I wish you would come up to me
Tell me what you'd like to be
Would you like to be rich and famous?
Sure, no one else could blame us
For dreaming casually
once in a while
just once in a while
If we let our cares just drift into space
we can always find the time and the place
maybe saturn or it may be mars

the both of us just searching the stars
just dreaming casually
there many times try to analyze just what the future is made of
And as the minutes pass, stand to the looking glass
what do I see lord?
it can't be me
going oh so gracefully
still the world goes round
and though how hard I try
it still keeps leaving me behind
someday soon I'll know
we'll all have to go
so dreaming can't be that much of a crime
once in a while
just once in a while
if we'd all forget about the past
give the days much more to last
Ive been told before the end is nearing
but nevertheless I can't go on fearin'
when I'm dreaming casually
once in a while
just once in a while
once in a while
just once in a while

Indisputably the greatest Chicano rock band of the '60s, Thee Midniters took their inspiration from both the British Invasion sound of the Rolling Stones and the more traditional R&B that they were weaned on in their native Los Angeles. Hugely popular in East Los Angeles, the group, featuring both guitars and horns, had a local hit (and a small national one) with their storming version of "Land of a Thousand Dances" in 1965. Much of their repertoire featured driving, slightly punkish rock/R&B, yet lead singer Willie Garcia also had a heartbreaking delivery on slow and steamy ballads.
