Drunkard's Dream Lyrics

Don't do this and don't do that
And won't you feel at home
Together we can make it on our ownTell me what I did was wrong
And beg me to come home
Show me a way to leave the past aloneYou wanna tell me things are not
The way they seem to be
Prove the night, it's takin' over meMy dear, listen to me
And know what way to go
Build a home it's safe, you have some doughOn and off we made it now
It's up and up and down
On and off we made it now
It's up and up and downI don't know if we'll make it
But I'm glad you're still around
On and off we made it now
It's up and up and downThe other day you picked me up
I was lying on the street
Sorriest of the state that I was inI just had a few [Incomprehensible]
Believe what I said is true

My head works fine, it just kills me who are you?On and off we made it now
It's up and up and down
On and off we made it now
It's up and up and downI don't know if we'll make it
But I'm glad you're still around
On and off we made it now
It's up and up and downWhen I woke the fire went dead
The pain was in my eyes
Let's undo the taste you didn't likeNow I know it's up to me
And I know what way to go
Dear, I love you
Please, don't leave me on my ownOn and off we made it now
It's up and up and down
On and off we made it now
It's up and up and downI don't know if we'll make it
But I'm glad you're still around
On and off we made it now
It's up and up and down

The Foghorn Stringband (composed of local americana all-stars Caleb Klauder, Stephen “Sammy” Lind, Peter Leone, Nadine Landry and Patrick Lind) features tight intstrumental work and a line-up — fiddle, banjo, mandolin, bass and guitar — reminiscent of early bluegrass, but their powerful approach is whole-heartedly Old Time, centered largely by the fiddle. Devoted to the interpretation and performance of American stringband music, their style encompasses early country music, the fiddle repertoire of the Southern Appalachians and the Midwest, and the stringband sounds of the Piedmont region.
