Ebb & Flow Lyrics

At every spring there's flowers
That are blooming at the top of the hill
I never ever pick them
But if you ask me then I probably willOh my, this itself is like
I've been here before
And just as I slip beneath the waves
I see the distant shoreTranquilized and mesmerized
And drifting through the ebb and flowYou and I are not from the same town
But we are still best friends
And if you ask me nicely
I just might come back, come back here againI believe that what you see
Is different from what you know
(From what you know)
Oh, come along sing a song
I'll let you in free to the show
(Free to the show)Drink a lot and say you're not too drunk
To have one for the road
(One for the road)

Tranquilized and mesmerized
Drifting through the ebb and flow
Yeah, yeah, the ebb and flow
Yeah, yeah, ebb and flowTake everything, take all of it
Just take me for what I am
I'm the brother of the mother
Of the father of the son of SamI believe that what you see
Is different from what you know
(From what you know)
Come along and sing a song
I'll let you in free to the show
(Free to the show)Drink a lot and say you're not too drunk
To have one for the road
(One for the road)
Tranquilized and mesmerized
Drifting through the ebb and flowYeah, yeah, the ebb and flow
Yeah, yeah, the ebb and flow
Yeah, yeah, the ebb and flow
Yeah, yeah, ebb and flowThe ebb and flow
The ebb and flow
The ebb and flow
The ebb and flow
The ebb and flow

There’s something strangely familiar, something awfully comforting about the sounds emanating from this room. A jangle here, a shoegaze haze there, and enough hooks to empty a small lake if musical hooks were, indeed, the type used to harvest fish. And what do these songs, reportedly written by The Purrs, have in common? Some would say Galaxie 500 with a little bit of Luna for continuity sake; others, the Verve chased with the Church.
