Edward Leaves Lyrics

If I stayed with you
I would live a lie
For you deserve a love
This heart cannot provide
So Ill wish you well
And be on my wayIm not the one who could give you what you need
So Ill bid you farewell but dont you dare watch me leaveI didnt mean to
Hurt you this way
But Im not what you need
So I guess
Ill just be on my way
One day youll wake up
And thank me for what I did
When youre living your happy life
Behind your white fence, new husband and kidsLike a captured bird
Who yearns to sail the sky
I will unlock your cage now
So prepare to fly

And Ill kiss the air
And hope it finds you well
GoodbyeIm not the one who could give you what you need
So Ill bid you farewell but dont you dare watch me leaveI didnt meant to
Hurt you this way
But Im not what you need
So I guess
Ill just be on my way
One day youll wake up
And thank me for what I did
When youre living your happy life
Behind your white fence, new husband and kidsI didnt meant to
Hurt you this way
But Im not what you need
So I guess
Ill just be on my way
One day youll wake up
And thank me for what I did
When youre living your happy life
Behind your white fence, new husband and kidsSo, Ill kiss the air
And hope it finds you well
Goodbye
