Electric Crown Lyrics

Here we go
The people show
Victims of tomorrowThe way it goes
It never shows
Emptiness or sorrowThere is nothing left inside
Nothing left to cry for
So I justify my crimes
Things that I must die forSo alone
Away it goes
The life that you have wastedYou never know
Where it might go
The sweet success you've tastedTasted by a bitter frown
Knowing I must die for
Can't confide, to all the lies
No one to inquireBut as I wander
Change of season
As I realize
That I'll soon be thereI'll let you know

The reapers show
Makes you beg or borrowHe comes to see
The tragedy
His fate he will not followWearing your electric crown
The preacher starts to pray
Shiver as the lights go down
Heed these words, I sayBut as I wander
Change of season
I can't ponder
Got my reasonBut as I realize
I don't care
All I know is
That I'll soon be thereNow it's done
The time has come
The people stand in silenceAnother dawn
Is coming on
His fate is being decidedNow, there is no one left inside
A brain without a mind
Traces of a bitter man
Are all that you will findBut as I wander
Change of season
And I can't ponder
Got my reasonBut as I realize
I don't care
All I know is
That I'll soon be thereAnd I'll soon be there
And I'll soon be there
And I'll soon be there

Testament was one of the first thrash metal bands to emerge from the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1980s. Originally formed as 'Legacy' in 1983 by founding members Eric Peterson (rhythm guitar), Derrick Ramirez (guitar) and Louie Clemente (drums), the line-up included vocalist Steve Souza and Greg Christian (bass). Ramirez was later replaced by wunderkind Alex Skolnick (lead guitar). Souza soon departed to join Exodus and suggested that the towering Chuck Billy take over as frontman(and was later run over by a bus).
