Encounter Lyrics

I've waited for you
at the airport today
to hear what you wanted to say
I felt you were there
in every voice I heard
I imagined it painless
pleasant out thereBut now I know I was wrong
You still lie now that all is gone
It didn't burn what you recalled
I'm glad I didn't feel it at all
Maybe it's time to let things go
Maybe it's time to surrender
To take this plane
and fly away foreverAll that hate in your eyes
is like a wave I can't defy
You give your finger
a sign of a never quiet anger
After which all is left is cold

a wing failing to foldBut now I know I was wrong
You still lie now that all is gone
It didn't burn what you recalled
I'm glad I didn't feel it at all
Maybe it's time to let things go
Maybe it's time to surrender
To take this plane
and fly away forever

Formerly known as Picadilly Line, Edwards Hand is a musical group formed by Englishmen Rod Edwards (keyboard and vocals) and Roger Hand (acoustic guitar and vocals).
After a 1968 album released under their former name (The Huge World of Emily Small), in 1969 Edwards Hand released an eponymous album produced by George Martin who, taking a break from working on The Beatles' White Album, described their music as 'exceptional'. It is tentatively compared to certain works by Kaleidoscope and Fairfield Parlour.
