Every Kind of Vice Lyrics

If everybody is saying that
Love is free
How come they keep it
Under lock and keyWhen it comes to love
You've gotta shop around
On and off, the foreman sellin'
By the poundLike every kind of vice
It's only merchandiseWhen you're making love
Check your wallet every minute
'Cause that little girl
Wants everything that's in itAnother thing with love
Apart from the money
You might get stung
If you're stealing honeyNot every kind of vice
It's only merchandiseNow if you're feeling down
And you take it on the streets
Your gonna take your boys
[Incomprehensible]

It's gonna lift you off your feetYou really gonna fly
But you remember what I said
When moaning like a sleeper
And you wish that you was deadIf it's lovin' or it's liquor
Or it's this or that
The man who's selling tickets
That's getting fatLike every kind of vice
It's only merchandise

Dr. Feelgood are a British pub rock band, formed in 1971. The classic line-up included Lee Brilleaux (b. 1953, d. 7 April 1994; vocals/harmonica), Wilko Johnson (b. John Wilkinson, 1947; guitar), John B. Sparks (b. 1953; bass) and John 'The Big Figure' Martin (drums). Initially based in Canvey Island, Essex, on the Thames estuary, Dr. Feelgood broke into the London circuit in 1974. Brilleaux's menacing personality complemented Johnson's propulsive, jerky stage manner, while the guitarist's staccato style dominated the group's idiosyncratic brand of angular rhythm and blues.
