Everyone's Hand Is On the Switch Lyrics

Everyone's hand is on the switch
Up above there's a leaden sky
Everyone's thinking of the witch
Get ready, make someone cryOoh, they all laughed when the pope got on the phone
Ooh and the president pretends that he's not homeEveryone's hand is on the switch
While the cameras waited outside
Let's hope there is another hitch
Last time the guy didn't dieOoh, while the nation is holding back its breath
Ooh, Mr. Sullivan is holding still for death
And if you wanna get scared, look at that chair
Feel that power run through, ooh yeahOh, the switchEveryone's hand is on the switch
Come on people, pull together now
Then we can go down to the beach
As the Florida sunshine comes outOoh, where's the popcorn? The soft drinks and the fudge
Ooh, don't worry, they'll be comin' soon, give that switch a nudge
And if you wanna get scared, look at that chair
Feel that power run through, ooh yeahEveryone's hand is on the switch
What a swelling execution

Sweet revenge is such a bitch
Dance to the executionEveryone's hand is on the switch
Everyone's hand is on the switch
Everyone's hand is on the switchEveryone's hand is on the switch
Everyone's hand is on the switch
Everyone's hand is on the switch

Graham Parker (born November 18, 1950 in London) is a British rock singer and songwriter. He continues to be best-known as the leader (and singer) of the popular British band Graham Parker & The Rumour, though he has has a number of solo albums to his name. Despite moderate commercial success, he has consistently been hailed by critics as one the most prominent musicians of his generation, with his wittily-heated, often class-conscious lyrics and energy-fueled music preceding the arrival punk rock and new wave music.
