Everything's coming up Roses Lyrics

I had a dream, a dream about you, baby
It's gonna come true, baby
They think that we're through, but babyYou'll be swell, you'll be great
Gonna have the whole world on the plate
Starting here, starting now
Honey, everything's coming up rosesClear the decks, clear the tracks
You've got nothing to do but relax
Blow a kiss, take a bow
Honey, everything's coming up rosesNow's your inning, stand the world on its ear
Set it spinning, that'll be just the beginning
Curtain up, light the lights
You got nothing to hit but the heightsYou'll be swell, you'll be great
I can tell, just you wait
That lucky star I talk about is due
Honey, everything's coming up roses for me and for youYou can do it, all you need is a hand
We can do it, Mama is gonna see to it
Curtain up, light the lights
We got nothing to hit but the heightsI can tell, wait and see

There's the bell, follow me
And nothing's gonna stop us till we're through
Honey, everything's coming up roses and daffodilsEverything's coming up sunshine and Santa Claus
Everything's gonna be bright lights and lollipops
Everything's coming up roses for me and for you

William “Count” Basie (see Count Basie) (1904 - 1984) was a jazz pianist, organist, composer, and bandleader. He created a swing band in the early 1930s that was a favorite of many dancers and of vocalists including Billie Holiday. The Count Basie Orchestra is a 16 to 18 piece big band, one of the most prominent jazz performing groups of the swing era. The band survived the late-forties decline in big band popularity and went on to produce notable collaborations with singers such as Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald in the fifties and sixties.
