Evil And Here To Stay Lyrics

I was born at midnight
I was up running by dawn
Ain't nobody can stop me now
'Cause I was out the door and gone
Everybody knows you better
Try and keep outta my way
Because some people come and go
But I'm evil and I'm here to stay
You know I can kill a man
Not even care
I can make love to you, little girl
Till she just can't go nowhere
That's the way I live
Just fighting and lovin' day to day
You know some people come and go
But I'm evil and I'm here to stay
Well, get me a one way ticket
On that road to hell

You ever try to cross me, man
You ain't gonna live to tell
No, no you better listen to what I say
You know some people come and go
But I'm evil and I'm here to stay
I said some people come and go
But I'm evil and I'm here to stay
Well, you better not try to cut me down
'Cause I'm evil and I'm here to stay

The Jeff Healey Band was a Canadian blues-rock band led by guitarist and vocalist Jeff Healey (born Norman Jeffrey Healey on March 25, 1966 in Toronto, Canada; died March 2, 2008). Formed in 1986 in Toronto, ON, the original lineup consisted of Jeff Healey, Joe Rockman on bass, and Tom Stephen on drums.

The group played around small Toronto-area clubs for a few years before eventually signing with BMG Canada and Arista Records for the rest of the world, and releasing their debut album See The Light in 1988, which featured the top charting hits "Angel Eyes" and "See The Light".

The band played and recorded blues/blues rock-infused music along with many original-flavored covers. The band officially released five studio albums and one live recording including the sophomore Hell To Pay (1990), Feel This (1992), Cover To Cover (1995), Get Me Some (2000), and Live At Montreux 1999 (2005). There have also been some recent unofficial compilation releases without the consent of the artists.

The band performed a cameo role in the Patrick Swayze movie "Roadhouse" and they are featured in its official soundtrack.

The group split up in the late 2000, with Healey continuing performing as a solo artist and later as Jeff Healey & The Jazz Wizards playing trumpet. Healey died on March 2, 2008 after a long battle with cancer.
