Fake Plastic Trees Lyrics

A green plastic watering can
For a fake Chinese rubber plant
In the fake plastic earthThat she bought from a rubber man
In a town full of rubber plans
To get rid of itselfIt wears her out, it wears her out
It wears her out, it wears her outShe lives with a broken man
A cracked polystyrene man
Who just crumbles and burnsHe used to do surgery
On the girls in the eighties
But gravity always winsAnd it wears him out, it wears him out
It wears him out, it wearsShe looks like the real thing
She tastes like the real thing
My fake plastic loveBut I can't help the feeling
I could blow through the ceiling
If I just turn and runAnd it wears me out, it wears me out
It wears me out, it wears me outAnd if I could be who you wanted
If I could be who you wanted
All the time, all the time

Beginning in 2000, The Bare Naked Statues have gained a sterling reputation in the St. Louis area for singing excellence. Lawrence Hwang, a man of great stature, had the dream of starting an all-male acappella group. He went around the Saint Louis University campus asking people to join this group with the hope of creating something remarkable. Originally a seven-man group, the Statues remarkably grew to a full 12-member group within months. Eight years later, the group is receiving unrivaled success at St. Louis University. The group now has 13 members and continues to grow by leaps and bounds with each incoming member. They perform their unique blend of tantalizing rhythm, bold harmony, and irresistible melody with a touch of swagger to hundreds of swooning fans each school year. Any song is fair game for The Statues, but they prefer to perform a well-rounded collection of popular, lesser known, and slightly comedic songs in order to keep their audience coming back for more. This eclectic group of gentlemen loves to sing, entertain, and have fun on any stage anywhere. So sit back, relax, and enjoy as they make love to your eardrums! Read more on Last.fm.
